| Derived from African polygon stitches, this twisted stitch with a triangular cross-section yields a flexible yet solid rope. Because some of the beads have only a single thread pass, it is ideal for tiny gemstones or pearls which often have very small holes. It also works up more quickly than twisted herringbone stitch. If you choose to use size 8 seeds, you may intersperse Japanese fringe beads which creates a certain amount of stiffness in the rope. Time permitting, I will also show you how to make the matching button closure using 4mm
fire-polished beads.
